National Brass Band Championships Of Great Britain. A place to see how well the band is progressing though the leagues.

Shanklin Town Brass Band is a community organisation dedicated to teaching and performing brass band music across the Isle of Wight: entertaining the public and giving young people and adults the opportunity to play a brass instrument and participate in performances, competitions and individual examinations.

The Albion Brass Consort was formed in 1987 as a collaboration of some of the finest players from the main London music colleges. Since then, they have become recognised as one of Britain’s most talented and versatile brass ensembles. Their repertoire is exciting and individual, covering five centuries from the Renaissance to improvised jazz and newly commissioned works.

Our conductor, Marc Easener plays bass for them.

A great hour on this local railway

Pedal timpani are well established instruments, offering the convenience of rapid tuning; they are now almostuniversal in orchestral music. However there are two major problems associated with them, namely their high cost and their huge size and weight.

Tour Timps were specifically designed to offer a sound very similar to conventional timpani, but allowing for easier transport and storage at a more affordable price.

After nearly a ten year campaign the future of Swaines Green has been secured. A joint bid by the Friends of Swaines Green with a generous donation from Epping Forest District Council, Epping Town Council, the Corporation of London and English Heritage has finally been successful and the 18 acre site has now been bought and fully protected.

A Website has been set up to provide up-to-date, on-line information for Sheering residents to supplement Sheering News.

EFB play a Christmas concert in the village hall every year.

A local group whome EFB have performed with in 2005

This is a tall, impressive building with a clock tower. It was erected in 1832 and rebuilt in 1890 in 14th Century style. The tower was erected in 1908. It's a great place for a concert.
